TR8 (TP) Canley/Solihull 1980 Year Cars
TR8 (TP) were built in 1980 are the most common with around 2000 of them built, albeit 2000 isn’t exactly a large number in automotive terms. TR8 (TP) is easy to identify with a large TR8 badge on the font panel.
From here on in all TR7’s and TR8 (TP)’s share the same series of numbers, individual letters are now the only way to differentiate between a TR7 or TR8 – Different market cars – FHC or DHC. All the RHD TR8’s were designated TP chassis number cars and that included the 9 built in 1981.
RED designates TR8 chassis identifier. Chassis number doesn’t lie, owners may beware!
